Admission and Promises

Contact

When someone is interested in joining the Nazareth Community or Companions of Nazareth, they need to write to the Nazareth Community or Companions of Nazareth email address expressing their interest and why they feel called to join. If after an initial conversation they want to explore this interest of joining further, they will meet in person with the Novice Guide (Nazareth Community) or online with the Leader or Chaplain (Companions). If after prayerful discernment they want to find out more, they may be invited to Nazareth or Companions meetings and to meet the leaders. The person seeking admission and the novice guide or leader will then decide if they want to proceed to admission. This usually takes place twice a year.

Anyone wishing to leave the community may do so freely and there is a service of release from promises. Release from the community is carried out with prayer and thanksgiving for all a member has shared during their time as a member of the community.

If after seven years of being a member of the community a member wishes to take a life-promise to serve the community, this too is possible.
